Home Inspection

Nearly 5 out of the 6 million homes sold in the US last year were preexisting homes. Many of these homes likely came with preexisting issues. A home inspection is a vital part of the home buying process and having a certified inspector is a must. I am an AHIT (American Home Inspectors Training) certified inspector and continued education is a priority for me. I also use the InspectIt reporting platform which makes for quick turn around times for your final report.

Radon Testing

Radon is radioactive gas that comes from the soil. Radon usually does not present a health risk outdoors because it is diluted in the open air. That being said, Montana has three times the national average for indoor radon levels. It is important that homes that do not already have a radon mitigation system be tested for high levels of this potentially hazardous gas.

I hold a radon measurement certification from NRPP (National Radon Proficiency Program).

Drone Capabilities

Drones are becoming more and more popular for use in many businesses these days and home inspections are no different. Having the ability to use a drone during an inspection is just another tool in my bag. They don’t replace a hands on roof inspection and shouldn’t be an excuse to leave the ladder on the truck. However, they are a great way to insure the safety of the inspector and still provide a high quality report to the client.

Thermal Imaging

A thermal imager is an important tool for a home inspector in detecting many issues that could not be seen with the naked eye. For example, hot and cold air escapement can lead to higher energy costs, lower efficiency in a home and be an indicator of poor insulation. It can also help identify electrical issues such as bad breakers, shortages and other possible fire hazards. These issues can result in major expenses for a potential homeowner.

About Me

I am a Montana native and a third generation contractor. I have years of experience in building, plumbing, HVAC and electrical. With the majority of my knowledge being in construction and my knack for detail, home inspection is a great fit.

Buying a home is the largest investment someone can make and making sure your investment is sound is the most important aspect of the home buying process. I enjoy the meticulous work that inspections provide. Finding the many attributes and imperfections that a home may have is always an adventure.

In my free time I enjoy all the many seasonal hobbies Montana has to offer. From rafting and fishing to snowmobiling and skiing. I also enjoy bird hunting with my dog, Hatchet.
